Well Hello there family.
I pray that you all are doing GREAT. First and foremost Grandaddy Pressley is back at home - Thank God for this blessing. The 'Aunties' are there doing what we Pressley's do for our loved ones in need and we all thank you for that.
Reflections of 2008
Well in case you've been living under a rock, buried 100ft beneath the earth you might not have heard, but God willing the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA will have it's FIRST TRULY AFRICAN AMERICAN President in 2009!!!!! I use the word TRULY because President Obama's father is from Kenya, which is in Africa. If you think about this for a moment it is mind blowing. Some 100 or more years ago Africans were sold and stolen to be slaves in the U.S. - who would have thought that a African whose descendants help build the White House would one day not only be living in it as a servant, but living in it as the PRESIDENTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
Well there is soo much to say and glean from this that I can't even put it into words, but I will say this - there are those living amongst us that have lived during and through the times of segregation and to be alive to witness this is TRULY A DREAM REALIZED. To all of you who have suffered the indignities that this country has put upon us as a people, I want to say THANK YOU for your strength, faith, stamina, wisdom, and resilience because without your struggles, faith and fight this would not be happening.
OK before I start crying let's move on to some family news. While I didn't get a chance to sit at the table w/my aunt Orie this Thanksgiving, I was blessed to see her and still had some of her famous giblet gravy - Oh Lord that's some good gravy :). The girls and I got a chance to just hang around the house with granddaddy and just relax, which was nice for a change.
Well I've got to get back to work, so later for now. And please feel free to include your thoughts, events, etc to the FAMILY blog.
Ciao
